Ultraport provides a broad range of services tailored
to meet the diverse needs of our customers in a timely, efficient,
and safe manner. We use cutting edge technology in every area of our
work and in every port that we service, which encompasses the entire
length of Chile, from Arica in the north to Punta Arenas in the south.
Operation and Maintenance of Port Terminals
Ultraport manages, operates, and conducts maintenance
at all types of port terminals – those servicing containers
and general cargo, as well as those handling liquid and dry bulk cargos.
Stevedoring and Discharging of Vessels
Stevedoring and discharging containers, the main
activity in most of our ports, is carried out using state of the art
equipment, which ensures safe operations and enhances performance.
We also handle bulk and break bulk cargo.
Stuffing and Stripping of Containers
This work involves consolidating and separating container cargo, as
well as moving empty containers.Movement of All Types of Cargo
- Metals, such as copper concentrate, copper anodes and cathodes, iron pellets, steel bars, lead and zinc concentrate, etc..
- Heavy lift cargos, both oversized and high-tonnage cargos, are highly complex and usually high value cargos which must be handled using the proper equipment..
- Liquid chemical products, in particular sulphuric acid, are high risk cargos that must be handled using tight security measures.
- Coal is carried by conveyor belts from the ship directly to thermoelectric generating stations, where Ultraport provides coal storage and movement services.
- Frozen and refrigerated cargos, such as fruit and fish, require maximum attention and coordination. To meet this requirement we use advanced information technology software and hardware to monitor and transmit the status of the cargo at all times. The customer has direct online access to this information.
- Wood chips, wood in the rough, lumber, and paper on the reel are the main forestry-related cargo.
Storage
We operate and manage warehouses specializing in
lumber and wood chip storage, designed to optimize domestic traffic
and avoid cross-contamination of products. In addition, we have large
storage areas, both covered and open air, for copper, break bulk cargo,
and containers.
Port Logistics
Ultraport has attained the highest performance
evaluations for cargo transfer, for safe management of cargo, and
for cargo tracking using the latest online data exchange systems.
