Ultraport, part of the Ultramar Network, started operations in Valparaiso, Chile in 1981. In order to better serve its customers, Ultramar decided to form its own port agency and hire its own personnel. This enabled Ultraport to operate more efficiently and excel in port activities, such as stevedoring, discharging, and moving cargo. Since then Ultraport has become a trusted partner to its diverse clientele, who rely on it to provide superior port services.
 
Since its inception Ultraport has reflected the philosophy of the group’s founder, Albert von Appen.
